Fifty million? Fifty billion? I don’t know, so let’s get started! Please join us in praying Memorares for the end of abortion. This is a most powerful prayer, and “this kind can only be cast out by prayer and fasting.” (Mt 17:20) Let’s keep track of our prayers, so we will encourage each other to pray more. You can pray the Memorare yourself, or with friends, family, or with your class at school. We’ll even pray on the air. And once you’ve accumulated 100 Memorares, please enter that number onto our “Memorare Meter.” Could you pray nine each day? May God bless you and the may Our Lady of Guadalupe, Protectress of the Unborn, hear our prayers.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Prayer History The Memorare, from the Latin 'remember' which is the first word in the Latin translation, was traditionally thought to have been composed by the Cistercian St. Bernard of Clairvaux. It was popularized in the 15th century by a French priest, Fr. Claude Bernard. It emphasizes Mary's role as intercessor and her unbroken history of answering the prayer of those who call to her. |
