Conservation Funding Available to Enhance Sustainable Ranching and
Support Rural Economies
PORTLAND, ORE., Mar. 13, 2012 - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and
Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar announced a new $33 million Working
Lands for Wildlife partnership effort to use innovative approaches with
farmers, ranchers and forest landowners to restore and protect the
habitats for seven at-risk wildlife species whose management needs are
compatible with sustainable agricultural practices and whose decline can
be reversed with the help of private landowners. |

Oregon NRCS Is Now
Accepting Proposals For the 2012 Conservation Innovation Grant
PORTLAND, Ore., March 7, 2012 The Natural Resource Conservation
Service (NRCS) today announced that up to $225,000 of funding is
available in Oregon for eligible individuals, local and state
governments, non-governmental organizations, and tribes through the
Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) program. The deadline to submit an
