HANK HERMANSENOregonian Hank Hermansen grew up on the southern coast of Oregon in a town called Brookings. There, he developed a love for fishing and for all things in nature. As an artist with a degree in fine arts, Hank has a passion for incorporating his respect for the outdoors in all aspects of his personal and professional life. In 2008, Hank began working with Toby because he feels passionately about working for an organization with a strong eco-ethic. In addition to forging earrings, pendants, and the occasional bracelet or ring, Hank oversees production and quality control in Toby’s workshop. RACHEL RICHARDSONGrowing up in Tillamook, Oregon, Rachel tinkered with jewelry making from an early age. After graduating from the University of Oregon, she started her own soap making business and found passion and inspiration from her travels. “I believe that when you create something from a place of wonder, excitement, and joy, that it inevitably shines through in your work,” she says. Rachel began working with Toby in 2009 and now channels her love for life into the pieces that she makes every day. Rachel lives on a Christmas tree farm with her dog, Sydney. |
PAUL COOPERPaul Cooper is a renaissance man in the truest sense of the phrase who has worked with Toby Pomeroy for 4 years. Growing up in Oregon’s Colombia Gorge and spending summers in the Puget Sound, Wyoming, and Idaho with his grandfather gave Paul an early sense of respect for nature as well as a hunger for creative self-exploration. He draws on a host of rich life experiences as cancer survivor, world traveler, swordsman, scholar, and soldier, (among lots of others) to make each piece as uniquely individual as he is. In the studio, Paul uses his expert hammer work on cuffs and rings. COLLEEN POWERSColleen wears many hats around the studio, from sales to fulfilling orders, holding down the office to traveling to trade shows. She transplanted to Oregon, from Northern California in the 1970’s, began working with Toby in 2005, & is still raising 3 of her 7 daughters. When she first set eyes on Toby’s gold hoops, she thought they were the “sexiest earrings" she had ever seen and every woman should have a pair of them. Colleen practices Pilates and considers herself a "Foodie", especially enjoying coffee, chocolate, and wine. |
