Al and Autumn Ray

Alan and Autumn Ray

Alan and Autumn Ray were married in 1970 and are the founding directors of MarriageTeam.  Alan retired from the Air Force with his last assignment as the Professor of Aerospace Studies at the University of Portland, Oregon.  He has a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Development and Autumn has a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with Social Work emphasis.  Alan left county government as the training manager in April 2007 to be the full time Executive Director for MarriageTeam.  Autumn is the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice Volunteer Manager.  They are a certified Marriage Enrichment leader couple, Seminar Directors for PREPARE/ENRICH, and skilled trainers.  Together they train MarriageTeam coach couples and promote MarriageTeam through speaking events, workshops and seminars.  Alan and Autumn have two married children and a grandson.

Doug Taylor

Doug Taylor

Doug Taylor is a Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE) and was already contributing his expertise even before his official start in October of 2010. Doug comes to us with a broad and eclectic background including experience in the graphic design/printing industry, Web site creation, public relations and marketing.  He has worked for many non-profit organizations in his career including Fuller Theological Seminary, Christian Supply, Multnomah University, Medical Teams International and most recently, United Cerebral Palsy of Oregon and SW Washington.  He’s owned his own marketing company with his wife Stacey which included many clients in the non-profit realm including Teen Challenge, High Desert Christian College and East Hill Church. He holds a Master of Arts in Business Communication (MABC) degree from Jones International University.  He is a native of the Portland area, but has lived in Los Angeles as well as Central Oregon.  He has been married to his wife Stacey for nearly 19 years and they have one son named Kaleb. Doug likes to joke that since he and Stacey are both only children and that it’s God’s sense of humor to give them only one child. When he’s not helping MarriageTeam grow, he enjoys time with his family and is heavily active in his son’s Boy Scout Troop.

Carol Perez

Carol Perez

Carol Perez grew up in Wisconsin and received a business degree from UW-Madison.  After marrying Fernando, they moved to Florida where she worked for six years as a bank internal auditor.  Carol and Fernando have two sons, Alex, 20 and Michael, 17.  After moving to Vancouver in 1993, Carol was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years.  During that time, she kept busy with volunteer work at church, in children’s ministry, finance and leadership development.  Carol enjoys biking and running and loves to try new recipes.  Making jewelry provides a creative outlet for her when she can squeeze it in.  Carol especially likes long walks and deep conversations.   One of the great things about her current job is that she gets to offer hope and encouragement to others on a daily basis.

Michael R. Burgoyne (ChFC, CFP), Board President,  is the President of Laurus Wealth Management, LLC. He works with personal and corporate clients to manage their investment portfolios and to define and refine their financial objectives. He has been in this field since 1981 and holds numerous financial industry licenses and designations including the Certified Financial Planner. Michael’s degree is in business administration with emphasis on accounting and economics from City University where he graduated with Presidential Honors. His professional affiliations past and present include: Financial Planning Association, Society of Financial Service Professionals, American Bankers Association, Western Independent Bankers, Association of Western Securities Management and Northwest Securities Management Association. Michael is also on the board of directors for DELTA Ministries Intl. Michael is married to Denise and they are the proud parents of twin boys, Andrew and Zachary.

Doug Ten Kley, Treasurer, has spent a career in banking and is the business manager and elder at his church.  He and the Ten Kley family have a fishing business in Alaska where they spend the month of July commercially fishing.  Doug and his wife Judy went through the original MarriageTeam training  and he has been a long time supporter of MarriageTeam.

Charlie Granade is the Senior Pastor of Ridgeview Bible Church in Chadron, Nebraska.  He and his wife, Brooke, hosted a Marriage Team training seminar in October of 2010 and since then have seen God do amazing things in the lives of couples in their area.  Charlie has a Masters in Advertising from the University of Texas and Theological Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Seminary.  He has authored a book called Delight: Satisfaction…God’s Way and enjoys raising up leaders for missional work.  He has been a team-building consultant for companies like Dell, Samsung, Hershey, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield and has also sold medical equipment for Philips Medical Systems.  He and Brooke have one child, Drew, who is three.

Steve Hensley, Director,  is a serial entrepreneur.  He was a founder and Chief Technical Officer for New Edge Networks.  He is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Video Presence, a high tech video conferencing company located in Portland.  Steve is a deacon in his church and he and his wife Debbie are active MarriageTeam coaches.spacer

Linda Noah, Director,  has been a pastor, senior executive, consultant, leadership development specialist and seminar leader for individuals, businesses and churches for the last 20 years.  She is currently co-pastoring Portland Christian Center with her husband, Ray, and leads spiritual formation and communication activities.  She has been heavily involved in marriage and family ministry throughout her career.


Honorary Advisory Board

spacer Dennis Blevins grew up in the south, learning from his parents about the truth of the Bible. After High School, he was accepted into Bible College in Chicago where he studied for a General Bible Degree. In 1968, he was inducted into the US Navy during the Viet Nam conflict and was introduced to the Navigator Ministry. After the Navy, he completed a Degree in Business Administration at Point Loma College in San Diego and joined the staff of the Navigators. He served on the Campus of San Diego State for six years and then the University of Oregon for seven years. In 1989, the Navigators formed a joint venture with Multnomah Bible College and began Mission Portland. Dennis came to oversee this ministry and continues to network with this ministry to this day. During the last 11 years, he has served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Promise Keepers, Logos II, and the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association. More recently, he serves as Executive Pastor at Greater Portland Bible Church. Currently Dennis coaches leaders and pastors across the country in over 40 states. He also works with the Navigators, T-Net International and Ministry Coaching International. His wife of 30 years, Mary Jane, and Dennis live in Gladstone, Oregon. Their daughters Regina and Rebecca live in Portland and Andrea is serving in a ministry in Tennessee.

spacer John Fortmeyer
is publisher and editor of the Christian News Northwest newspaper which is based in Newberg, OR. A native of Seattle, he graduated in communications from Seattle Pacific University in 1977 and edited the campus paper there. He spent the next 17 years as an editor and reporter for several small daily and weekly newspapers in Washington and Oregon before launching Christian News Northwest in 1994. It has a monthly circulation of 32,000 copies throughout western and central Oregon and southwest Washington. Christian News Northwest tied with two other newspapers for second place among the nation’s best Christian newspapers in the 2005 Evangelical Press Association (EPA) contest. John is a member of the board for the Fellowship of Christian Newspapers, a subgroup within EPA. He also spent several years as director of public information for George Fox University in Oregon. John and his wife, Sandy, were married in 1983 and have four children and one granddaughter. John and Sandy are members of Newberg Church of the Nazarene.

Dr Linda Miller
believes that successful organizations are supported by strong internal dynamics. Before becoming a coach, Linda worked for 12 spacer years in the behavioral science field, specializing in building productive and collaborative relationships typically dealing with major sources of conflict. Today, Linda is known as an executive coach and facilitator. Her clients include leaders and teams from Alltel, Black and Decker, Boeing, Deloitte, Disney, Duke Energy, Franklin Templeton, KPMG, Newell Rubbermaid, Nissan, Otsuka, and WD40. She has delivered coach training at career resource centers affiliated with Thunderbird, the University of Washington and USC’s MBA programs. Linda co-wrote much of the coaching materials for Western Seminary.  Currently, Linda serves as an Executive Coach and Global Liaison for Coaching with The Ken Blanchard Companies. She is a founding recipient of the Master Certified Coach designation from the International Coach Federation and has served on their board.  In the not-for-profit arena, Linda and her husband have served on several church staffs, and Linda has coached a number of senior pastors and denominational leaders. In June 2009, Linda was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by Western Seminary based on her contribution to the Christian coaching community.  Linda lives and golfs in Phoenix, AZ with her husband. They have two married daughters.

Dr. Steve Stephens has a Masters in Counseling and Pastoral Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. He is a clinical member spacer of American Psychological Association and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Steve is a licensed psychologist and has been working with marriages, families, and individuals for over 20 years. Steve is the author of 16 books including “20 Amazing Rules and Tools for a Great Marriage” and the “Lists to Live By” series, which currently has 750,000 copies in print. He has been an elder at his church for the past five years and has taught an Adult Sunday School class for the past 15 years. Steve was a radio talk show host, with approximately 1000 hours on air on KPDQ (the largest Christian radio station in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington). He interviewed guests such as Shirley Dobson, John Trent, Gary Chapman, Stormie O’Martian, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Joshua Harris, Steve Brown, Kevin Leman, Les Parrott, Norm Wright, Gary Smalley, Stu Weber, and Dennis Rainey. He is a popular seminar speaker on marriage and parenting and is the Chairman of Every Marriage Matters, a Community Marriage Policy Committee for Clackamas County. Steve has been married for 20 years and has three children.
