We're Proud of our Schools and Students
The Board of Directors, faculty and staff at Harmony Schools have been encouraging their students to compete academically with other students. Students at Harmony Schools have been participating in numerous local, statewide, and international competitions and have received many awards and trophies in the field of science, mathematics and computer technologies. The following is a summary of some of the awards and recognitions;-
Title I National Distinguished School Award
Harmony was one of only 52 schools in the entire nation to receive the National Title I Distinguished School Award for closing the achievement gap. It was the only school having middle and high school grades and the only charter school to receive the award. -
Best High School in the Nation
Harmony was listed by US News as one of the best high schools in the nation. -
1st Place in MathCounts
One of our Harmony students won first place in national MathCounts competition in 2008. -
Robotics in Europe
The Harmony Science Academy El Paso Robotics Team represented the United States in the 2009 European Open Championship Robotics Competition. -
Leader in T-STEM in Texas
Fourteen Harmony schools have been designated as T-STEM (Texas Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Academies. They have received funding from public and private organizations such as Gates Foundation and Dell Foundation as part of the Texas High School Project. As of 2009, there were 35 total T-STEM academies in Texas. -
Best Middle School in Central Texas
Harmony Austin was selected best middle school in Central Texas. -
Strong Presence in State Science Fair
In 2009, projects from Harmony Public Schools made up 10 percent of all competition projects in the 2009 ExxonMobil Texas State Science and Engineering Fair. - Harmony schools have won over 2,000 awards in local, state, national and international science fairs and science Olympiads.
Harmony Schools named as Miracle Schools
Two Harmony Science Academy High Schools (Dallas, and Austin) were ranked among the top public high schools in the nation, according to a recent analysis by the Newsweek. Read more
Striving for Excellence through Accountability
Harmony Schools strive for excellence. Twenty five Harmony Schools received ratings from Texas Education Agency in 2010. Out of these, 17 schools received an Exemplary rating.
