Harmony Success at Science Olympiad Regional Competition!

We are proud to announce that our Science Olympiad team had many successes at the Regional Competition held March 31, 2012 at West Texas A&M University. Together, our Science Olympiads secured two first-place wins and three third-place wins for the following categories:

Harmony Public Schools Received BBB Rating Again

spacer Harmony Public Schools has received BBB rating again by Standard & Poor's in a report dated March 16th 2012. The report stated that the outlook of the Harmony Public Schools is stable. BBB rating is the highest possible rating for a charter school operator to receive. Dr. Soner Tarim, the Superintendent of Harmony Public Schools, said: "In the midst of national and global financial instability, Harmony Public Schools System has demonstrated its ability to remain financially stable through fiscally sound organization and management. Renewing our BBB rating along with a stable outlook will enable us to save thousands of dollars which can then be used to further advance the efforts of our students, teachers, and staff members".

Odessa, Texas - Students are just a month away from taking the highly anticipated STAAR test. An Odessa school is taking practice STAAR tests. Students tell me they expected the STAAR questions to be harder but they're still practicing to make sure they're fully ready on test day.

"These little benchmark tests are important to ensuring the success of our students," said Sunny Busby, Literacy Mentor, Harmony Science Academy.

Harmony Science Academy-Odessa had an excellent day at the University of Texas at Permian Basin Regional Science Fair held on March 3rd, 2012. Congratulations to all of the Regional Science Fair participants for a great day in representing our school.
