Google joins the effort to educate girls

Plenty of holiday cheer can be found here at 10×10! We are thrilled to announce that 10×10 has been awarded a $500,000 grant from Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google. This generous support enables us to continue building our campaign to change the world…by changing the world for girls.

Google.org’s grant comes at a crucial time as we are neck deep in international travel. Each of our film’s 10 stories requires three separate production trips to 10 distant countries, and Google.org’s contribution means that we can complete the balance of our scouting and writer trips and film three of our 10 girls’ stories early in the new year. This is incredibly exciting for us, and for the girls around the world whose potential we are celebrating through 10×10.

We will also use Google.org’s grant to add fuel to our campaign. We will expand our campus programs and event participation, continue to produce campaign videos for our nonprofit partners, and extend our reach through online advertising and improved analytics mechanisms.

In short, we will use the next 12 months, in advance of the 10×10 film’s release, to continue to build our community of engaged activists and leaders who demand a better world for girls.

10×10 is honored to be among the outstanding organizations receiving grants from Google.org this year and to be a part of over $100 million in total charitable giving from Google.

We’re deeply grateful for Google’s generosity and to their—and your—commitment to ensuring that every girl has an equal opportunity to achieve her greatest potential.

And 10×10 is now on Google +. Add us to your circle!
