  1. Delirium Tremens Ale: 8.5% ABV, Belgian strong pale ale, translucent golden body with carbonation floating wildly throughout. Many variations of fruity goodness with the yeast being a lively character. Highly carbonated beer with the life of it just exploding with each crisp pull.
  2. Delirium Nocturnum: 8.5% ABV, strong dark ale, creamy head, apricots, bananas, sugary breads. The yeast is weightlessly sweet.
  3. Alken-Maes Pilsner: 5% ABV, distinctive, refreshing, blonde lager, full body, refined bitterness.
  4. The Commons Urban Farmhouse Ale: 5.3% ABV, rye saison, golden orange, floral nose, dry finish.
  5. Hoegaarden: 5% ABV, wheat, coriander and curacao orange peels.
  6. Joan of Arc: 7.5% ABV, collaboration saison between Girls Inc, U-Brew PDX and Bazi. Amber color, creamy head, molasses with subtle fruityflavor, highly carbonated. Proceeds of this beer to benefit Girls Inc of Northwest Oregon.
  7. Scheldebrouwerij Oesterstout: 8.5% ABV, dark brown filtered over Zealand oyster shells. Very light cocoa nose and taste, foamy orange/tan head. Light body.
  8. Des Rocs Triple Imperiale: 10% ABV, strong dark ale, yeasty, malty, baked banana, hints of dried sour cherry.

  11. Boneyard Femme Fatale: 6.5% ABV, sour ale, raspberries and cranberries taste, medium-bodied.

  17. Cuvee des Jacobin Rouge: 5.5% ABV, Flemish red, sweet cherry pie and sour. Light body, medium-carbonation.

Bottles

  1. Deus Brut: 11.5% ABV, golden yellow champagne-style beer. Classic pale ale and intense sugar sweetness.
  2. Duvel Golden Ale: 8.5% ABV, blonde and refreshing like a pilsner, but with the flavor, depth and complexity of an ale.
  3. Contreras Valeir Extra: 6.5% ABV, a cloudy copper color and foamy snow white head. An aroma of malt, herbal, grain and citrus.
  4. Huisbrouwerij Sint Canarus Tripel: 7.5% ABV, orange colour and a big head that lasts. Spicy Belgian yeast, hazy honey gold, bick rocky head.
  5. Stillwater of Love & Regret: 7.2% ABV, cloudy orange-peach colored with a stiff egg-white head. The heavy carbonation delivers the spicing perfectly to where it needs to go.
  6. Stillwater Jaded: 10% strong dark ale, chestnut colored ale with a nice steady off white head. Aroma is all about finesse, loads of blossoms and spring flowers.
  7. Green’s Gluten Free Amber Ale: 6% ABV, medium-bodied with subtle caramel and nut flavor nuances. Refined herbal hop aroma and finish.
  8. Wandering Aengus Ciderworks Bloom: 7.2% ABV, medium sweet cider, aromatic apple nose, bright clean finish.

Have you had it on draft in the U.S. before? I will certainly check to see if it’s available.

I look forward to coming here soon…
But the lack of a Flemish Red sour is a curious omission. I agree with the Rodenbach recommendation, or the Duchess, Vichtenaar and Monk’s Cafe etc.

We just added two to the list. They are hard to find on draft, but we have a large shipment arriving in August that will include quite a few more. If you have any special requests, let me know and I’ll see what we can do.

We currently have two on draft – Cuvee du Chateau Kasteel and the Bacchus Flemish Red Ale. We had the Ichtegem Grand Cru last week but ran out in 3 days. The Duchesse will continue to be one of our classics. We’ve had it three times already and runs out within a few days. Keep the ideas coming.

Fantastic.. came up with my family and met my Arizona extended family in Portland. We found your place and loved it (visited twice in one weekend). I will certainly spread the word here in Bend, OR and let our local homebrew club members know. Thanks guys for you kindness and incredible beer/food offerings.

I ordered a de ranke saison earlier tonight, but I think I was poured a strong dark, it tasted like the kasteel. dark dark brown not a lot of carbonation, raisiny/pruny and way more alcohol presence than a saison. i was assured it was the de ranke, but you might want to check the order of the draughts, the color alone threw me off.
    thanks

Hi Alex – we thought the same too when we first poured it and double checked the lines. We went as far as calling the importer instead of the distributor to make sure of it as well. It pours a very dark amberish color. I think a lot of people have been surprised by the dark color of this saison. I read several beerrate and beeradvocate reviews on it and we’re not alone. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and I’m glad to hear that you asked the server. The kasteel is very tart so if your beverage was tart do let me know.

I fully understand not offering samples. However, have you looked into offering flights? I would order one or more every time I came in if you had those on the menu!

Yes, we’re in the process of reviewing glassware. Issue is that Belgian beers are known for the 1-1.5″ head so the flight glassware will need to be around 4-5oz, otherwise, flights will be all foam.

Oh, this is a beautiful place, with great beer and nice food to go along with. Outdoor seating let us bring the dog and have a nice afternoon punctuated with candi sugar goodness from a variety of lovely Belgian beers. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood, thanks for being here!

You may not be able to get it, but I tried an exceptional ‘Imperial Saison’ from Funkwerks in Fort Collins, CO.
