Ha Long Bay and Halong Emotion – Highly Recommended

Initially during my one weekend off in Vietnam, we decided to visit Sapa.  Sapa located in the mountains of northwest Vietnam, is commonly visited by locals of Hanoi because of its cool climate offering a respite to the hot, humid temperate of summer.  However, plans suddenly changed.  Rain was hitting the mountain region causing landslides forcing travelers away from the city.   Traveling through southeast Asia in Monsoon season has been kno...

Dreams Punta Cana – Highly Recommended

You know it well! Guests will enjoy a transfer through the countryside with a view of the mountains in the distance on their way to this Apple favorite. REMEMBER – When booking ANY AMResort (Secrets, Dreams, NOW or Zoetry) through Apple Vacations, clients receive complimentary NON-STOP Transfers! The resort offers one of the largest free-form pools on the island and features 6 a la carte restaurants and 1 buffet (no dining restrictions or rese...

Royal Playa del Carmen – Highly Recommended

Beautiful lobby. Very tasteful and serene décor throughout. An oceanview room is only partial and this is from the corner of the balcony. Rooms are white and very luxurious and have the secret door for room service. Adults only, but if a family is attending a wedding there and staying next door at the Puerto Real, the children are allowed to attend wedding. This makes it a good option for families who need a more moderate resort or a family ...

Omni Cancun – Recommend

EP or All inclusive. All balcony rooms. Very narrow beach then rocks but they may get their beach restored. At the end of 2009 there will be a kids club. Villas are available that will sleep 6 adults or 5 adults and 2 children. Good option for families who might want EP. Not a lot of personality but good value. Libby

Grand Parnassus – Not Recommended

The inside looks like a ship and seems very dark and impersonal . The ground floor is like a food court with restaurants and snack bars. I think kids would love this. The kids club with a pirate ship and water slides is great for young kids. Family rooms have a separate area with bunk beds and a trundle so it will sleep a family of 5. There is a club category that has Jacuzzis and a special restaurant on the 11^th floor. Charge for internet. 24 ...

Grand Oasis Playa – Not Recommended

Grand Oasis Playa seemed nice enough, but Barb said if we book it, don’t complain to her. Enough said. A guest in the lobby told us not to stay there. Beth

Le Blanc – Recommended

Le Blanc could be described as luxury, upscale, stuffy. Gourmet dining with no reservations. Infinity pool and nice beach. Lagoon view and partial oceanview rooms but 75% are oceanview. Large gym. Incredible spa! Free internet and business center. Beth

Gran Caribe Real – Neutral

When you first walk into Gran Caribe Real you experience the Open air lobby. Active fun resort. Good value, good location. The buffet restaurant has beautiful ocean views. Only the MX restaurant needs reservations. The resort has a new water park and has family rooms that sleep 5 that open onto the park. Lobby bar with live music. They have made a cove area so that they have a small beach. T-zone with video games and mini disco for teens. It doe...

Avalon Grand – Neutral

Avalon Grand has been redone and is very attractive. Studio rooms have a kitchenette. Exchange privileges with the Avalon Reef on Isla Mujeres. It has an active pool and quiet pool. This is like a boutique hotel. Be careful sending anyone there that has problems with stairs. There are a lot of stairs to the pool areas. I would not recommend this to families. There is very little for kids and the kids club is very small. Lagoon view or oceanview ...

Beach Palace – Recommended

I saw the Beach Palace before the hurricane and it was pretty shabby. It has been rebuilt and it beautiful. The beach is very small but the pool area is nice and it has a huge screen for movies and entertainment. 24 hour room service. Great location for shopping. Shuttle to the Moon Palace. There is a top floor deck with both ocean and lagoon views that would be a spectacular location for weddings. The presidential suite sleeps 6 and is fantasti...
