About Plus Accounts

What? I have to pay to use DearDiary or OpenFiction?

No, certainly not. Most features of DearDiary, OpenFiction and Hamiko Forums are free. But maintaining those sites, providing the bandwidth and support for them all costs real money. Not that fake 'internet beans' thing that probably still exists somewhere, but real cold hard cash. Dollars, Pounds, Euro, Yen, Krona - whatever you want to call it, it costs to run the services.

You've probably all heard that there isn't much money in advertising on the web - you'd be right on that score too. The less money there is, the more popups, popunders and other nasty methods the advertisers choose to use. Getting a Plus account gets rid of those too, and shows your appreciation of the site in ways you can't imagine!

What do I get if I become a Plus User?

  • Adverts (especially annoying popups and popunders) removed.
  • HamiPiks access. Storage for your photo's or other pictures.
  • Your own e-mail address at DearDiary.Net, Openfiction.com or HamiMail.com
  • A smiley face next to your name.
  • weblogs.com ping when your diary is updated.
  • Friends Only Diary option.
  • Unlimited  usage of the Windows (w.bloggar) client.
  • Immediate access to New Features as they come online.

So, how much does it cost for a Plus account then?

The price depends on how long you want to be a Plus holder for. We understand that people don't like to pay for websites, especially since there were so many that disappeared pretty quickly when the DotCom bubble popped. But DearDiary has been here since 1999 and is still going strong, and OpenFiction has been here since 2000 so don't worry about that!
