THE REST OF THE EXPERIENCE
Fishing is the highlight of every trip, but we try to make the rest of your experience as enjoyable as your fishing day.

Alaska Kasilof River King Salmon: Fishing from 20 foot Fishrite drift boats, our guests experience some of the best Alaska salmon fishing the Kenai Peninsula has to offer. The Kasilof River is just a thirty minute drive from our Alaskan fishing lodge.  While floating the river, fishermen often see soaring eagles, a momma moose caring for her newborns and an occasional caribou along this scenic river. The Kasilof River sports a two salmon limit and has the best catch rate of 15 to 30 pound king salmon in the early season.

Alaska Kenai River King Salmon: When one thinks of Alaska salmon fishing trips, one naturally thinks of the Kenai River and the world famous, trophy sized King salmon. Our Kenai River fishing guides will assist the experienced fisherman or the novice in trying their hand at hooking and landing one of these monsters. Although fish over 70 pounds are uncommon, the average Kenai River salmon is 40 to 60 pounds. Anglers Lodge is one of the few Alaskan fishing lodges on the Kenai with over 100 feet of river frontage so you can walk from our bountiful continental breakfast to your boat to start a fun filled day of fishing. We are also the only Alaska fishing lodge to be adjacent to Morgan’s Landing State Park and with the park as our downriver neighbor, we have two miles of river shoreline to fish, helping to avoid the combat fishing experience of many other Alaskan salmon fishing lodges.

Alaska Silver Salmon: Also known as Coho salmon, Silvers are as enjoyable to catch as they are to eat. While planning your Alaska salmon fishing trips, do consider August and September to experience throwing a spinner or casting a pixie for your two a day limit of silver salmon. Our Alaskan salmon fishing guides will take you in our 20 foot Kenai River power boats to all the best spots just minutes from our Alaskan fishing lodge. If you want to vary your fishing experience, we will take you in a drift boat down the Kasilof and do a little bait fishing for silvers. Either way, you will have a fun filled day with lots of fishing action.

Sockeye Salmon in Alaska: When the sockeye salmon hit the rivers the excitement can be felt in the air. When the reds are in, the rods come out and everyone heads to the banks of the Kenai to try their hand at red salmon fishing. Sockeye have arrived by our Alaska Fishing Lodge as early as July 4th and have been caught as late as August 4th.  Timing your visit for their arrival is tricky at best but is a fisherman’s dream come true if your timing is right.

Limits on sockeye vary from three to six depending upon the river, run strength, and escapement rates. If you have never tried sockeye fishing, our guides will help you learn the technique.  If you are experienced at sockeye salmon fishing, our own Alaska fishing lodge front lawn fishing platform will provide you with hours of entertainment.

Alaskan Halibut: We pride ourselves on offering you a variety of fishing opportunities with our experienced fishing guides from our all inclusive Alaskan fishing lodge. In addition to fishing the Kenai and Kasilof rivers for Alaskan salmon, we fish the waters of Cook Inlet out of Deep Creek for the famous "barn door" halibut. Halibut fishing is action packed and hauling up a “chicken” is as much fun as catching a big one. Although several fish over 100 pounds are caught from the decks of the Marly Rae each year, the average halibut ranges from 20 to 40 pounds. After reeling up two of these superb eating fish, your arms will ache, but your smile will last until the last package of halibut is gone from your freezer! If you are unsure as to how to cook your fish, we have great halibut recipes, which are available on our website, as well as served at our Kenai fishing lodge.  We always provide at least one fish meal a week at the lodge.

Equipment and Lodging: With 23 years in the business, our crew at this Alaska fishing logde has mastered the craft of making your trip a once in life time experience. Our four Kenai River power boats are 20 foot Fishrite with 50HP Yamahas. We fish primarily with G-Loomis rods and Shimano reels and always keep lines and tackle in top rate fishing condition. Our three Kasilof river drift boats are 20 footers with the capacity for four passengers and the guide. Our river guides at the Kenai fishing lodge are at home with either drift boats or the power boats and can take you to either river based on your choice or best fishing. The fishing lodge's halibut boat, the Marly Rae, is a 28 foot Alumaweld with twin Honda 130’s. She has a fully enclosed cabin with heater and and indoor porta-potty. She takes 6 passengers plus the captain and deck hand. Our halibut reels are Penn 114(6/0) and the rods are Shakespeare 5 ½ footers.

The Rest of the Experience at our Alaska Fising Lodge: Fishing is the highlight of every trip, but we try to make the rest of your experience as enjoyable as your fishing day. We provide three hearty "all you can eat" meals a day serving a variety of cuisines. Breakfast is continental style; lunches are packed for boat trips or served hot at the fishing lodge; and dinners are served family style and are complete with main course, salads, breads and fresh baked home-made desserts. The lodge dining room is comfortable with beautiful views of the Kenai River and is surrounded with a covered outdoor deck. The 6-man hot tub also overlooks the river and feels great after a long day of fishing. If you have a favorite sporting event you can’t miss, here at the lodge the big screen TV is surrounded by comfortable couches and recliners. Sitting around the fire pit is a great way to spend an evening getting acquainted with other guests and telling your favorite fish stories. At this Alaska fishing lodge the large rooms have double beds, private baths, mini refrigerators and coffee makers. They come with daily maid service so your towels are clean and your bed stays made!
