Tony G. - world known tournament player and PokerWorks very own blogger - takes down the Betfair Asian Poker Tour held in Singapore. Tony made it through a field of 500 and three days of tournament play to take the title. Tony was favored by the odds makers to win this event, and being one to never disappoint the crowd, he did exactly that.
One key hand in the tournament for Tony was in the final heads-up play against Joshua Ang (2nd place finisher) when Tony pulled a massive bluff with 8-2 on a board of 10-10-3-4-A. Joshua showed an Ace and threw his hand away. In Tony's thoughts, there was no doubt he was going to win this tournament. Tony donated half of his winnings to Asian and Australian charities with this statement: "I want people to know that poker is sport. This is not a large amount compared to what people like Bill Gates give to charity but it is a gesture to show that it's not all about the money, it's about the competition as well."

Tony also received a Merlion trophy as a symbol of Singapore which he immediately gave to Joshua. Tony wanted the trophy to stay in Singapore.

Any time Tony is involved in a poker competition, he has plenty to say, known as ‘the trash talker' at times, Tony is a very solid tournament player and his ethics and goals are some of the best in the world.

Tony has his own poker site, Tony G. Poker, and refers to some of the games as playing ‘donkey' poker. Don't worry about that statement being condescending because Tony is right in there with you, playing donkey poker too.
