YOUR LOOK makeup By Yahaira Rosario The Season to Sparkle Glitter is this season’s key to giving your eye lashes a look that will make everything about you sparkle his spring season will welcome color and glitter as ac- cents for thick, lustrous eyelashes. This is the season to play with the beautiful pastel colors that come along with spring and your prom experience. Pastel colors are lighter versions of the basic colors, and they are the per- fect way to play up the vibrancy in your makeup without making you look like you are wearing excessive makeup or colors that are too bright. Adding fake lashes and some glitter is the fabulous way of taking the pastel look to another level for prom. In order to create this look, all you need is any pastel color eye shadow that complements your eye color. Purple complements just about every eye color, and it is the color used on our model, Jessi- ca. Additionally, some thickening mascara or a pair of fake eye- lashes will help you take it up a notch. Don’t forget the glitter and make sure the glitter that you use is specifically cosmetic for your eye areas. You want every focal point to pop by using glitter on the eyes for that extra glitz, applying a baby doll colored pink blush on the apples of your cheeks, high- lighting the top of your cheek bones, and, last but not least, using an ultra- high shine lip gloss on the lips. The day- time version could be similar, minus the glitter and fake eyelashes. The nighttime version would consist of extra mascara, fake lashes and additional glitter. A neat trick is to also apply a nude-colored eye pencil to your inner waterline to either make smaller eyes appear bigger or give an overall appearance of a cleaner look around the eyes. It’s a great picker-upper for the eye area. You can also take the same color eye shadow you applied on the eyelid and sweep it under the eyes to give it that extra pop. LET THE FUN BEGIN Apply an eye shadow primer over the entire eye, up to the brow bone, to give your eye makeup lasting power. Take your choice of eye shadow colors, and sweep across the eyelid while blending out any harsh lines.
