D'entre Les MortsOne of my favourite books and I have a horrible feeling that it's out of print in the UK at the moment. "D'entre les Morts" is the story upon which Hitchcock's film "Vertigo" was based.Illustration2012

Carrie PosterI found a still from Brian DePalma's "Carrie" and got this idea for one of those retro posters that look like they've been crushed between porn magazines for 30 years. I changed Carrie's expression a little because I wanted to bring out the sympathy you feel for the character.
Carrie was sketched in with pencil, attacked with watercolours, and sketched over again with pencil and pens. After scanning it in, I used some vintage textures and filters on Photoshop over the original poster's credits at the bottom. The font used for the title is the same one used in "Apocalypse Now".Illustration2012 -
Commission for VivandLarry.comIt was a real honour to do this sketch and graphic for vivandlarry.com's 5th anniversary. It's based on a portrait of Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier which was then worked into a banner for the site following a palette which the webmistress, Kendra, chose.
Happy Anniversary to vivandlarry.com and congratulations and thanks to Kendra for running such a fantastic website.
I had a few issues because the back of Larry's head wasn't shown on the photo I based it on so I ad hoc'ed it and unfortunately his neck ended up being a little too thick though I managed (with help from Kendra) to slim it down for the banner. :)Illustration, Web Design2012 -
