Our expertise will help you find the perfect fitting industrial brakes or clutches for the job. We have many different products that work well in high torque applications. Talk to us about our WPT Low Inertia, PowerFlo, and Eaton VC clutches and brakes.
Eaton manufactures three varieties of constricting type clutches and brakes: CB; CM; and VC. Each is created with a different application in mind. CB element clutches and brakes are trustworthy in the most demanding industrial applications. They are convenient for high speed cyclic operations, general power transmission, and coupling. CM element clutches and brakes share the same characteristics as the CB clutch and brake type, but have greater heat dissipation properties. Befitting uses include situations where moderate slippage would otherwise shorten the lifecycles of the components.
What differentiates VC clutches and brakes from CB and CM elements is their dependence on torque bars to transmit torque, rather than the sidewalls of the actuating tube. This makes them ideal for the most severe clutch and brake applications. VC elements are built to withstand sustained slippage and large inertia loads that would otherwise limit the operating life of an industrial clutch or brake system.
