NEW EQUIPMENT

I have been steadily refurbishing the AMEK/TAC Scorpion II console.  Having so many quality outboard mic preamps here, I've really little need of those in most of the 30 channels on the console; so they are being converted to line-in completely.  20 channels done so far on the way to 24.  I have also re-capped all the Aux and Group channels. 

I have added a couple cool mics to the already stellar collection here: a matched stereo pair of Cascade Fathead Ribbons with Lundahl transformers.  Nice sound!

I've also recently added a set of custom Palmetto drums, made by my friend Freddie Wooten at Palmetto Drum Company in Greenville, SC.  They are really, really nice...and then the sound!

I've added some cool plug-ins for mixing and mastering:  The Eddie Kramer series from Waves is as classic as classic gets with Helios and Pye emulations as well as an Amperex tape machine emulator.

Lots of people ask, "What is MASTERING, really?".  I've provided a brief but comprehensive explanation here.  If it creates more questions than it does answers, shoot me an e-mail or give me a call and I'll explain it further.  Even if it doesn't (it can get rather technical), I'd love to hear from you on mastering your next project!  HEY...WE'LL USE THE GOOD STUFF!
