Action Details

Please join us on 12/12!

Meet up at 6 AM at Kelley Point Park!

We will rally and then head to the Port together!

It is important to arrive on time.  We need to establish a strong presence before the morning shift is scheduled to begin.  Kelley Point Park is located in the Saint Johns neighborhood and is accessible via the #16 Bus.  If you ride the bus, you will need to walk or bike 0.7 miles from the N. Lombard and Simmons stop.  Check trimet.org for details.

Bus meet-up points & times (we’re aiming to have the buses leave at these times):

5:00 AM: Colonel Summers Park~ SE 20th and Belmont

5:30 AM: Shemanski Park~ SW Salmon and Park

5:55 AM: Expo Center~ The end of the MAX Yellow Line
After 6 AM, there will be buses shuttling people between the Expo Center and Kelley Point Park.

Please email bus@shutdowntheport.com and let us know if you plan on being at one of these spots (be sure to include which spot) so we can better facilitate getting everyone to the park.

If you plan on offering rides or are looking for one, please see the ride share board on the website.

There will be a second opportunity to meet up at 4 PM at Kelley Point Park for those who cannot make it in the morning!  However, it is crucial that we get as many peoplspacer e as possible for the morning shift!

Please consider biking or driving if you can.  Folks with cars are encouraged to offer rides to others.   We may need cyclists and drivers to travel to different parts of the Port in order to maximize our coverage. Cyclists are encouraged to connect with the Bike Swarm and join a feeder ride to join the action!

We encourage folks to form affinity groups- groups of friends who are committed to sticking together during the action.  The Flying Squad Committee will coordinate with affinity groups to ensure that we have a presence at all key areas of the Port.

Please e-mail flyingsquadcommittee@riseup.net to register your affinity group. Be prepared to share the following information:

1.  The name of your affinity group;

2.  One person’s contact information (a first name or alibi and phone number);

3.  Approximately how many people are in your affinity group; and

4.  Whether you will be bringing bikes or cars to the Port (not just to Kelley Point Park).

Thank you!
