Opportunities

Growing Chefs actively supports the traditions of apprenticeship and volunteerism, such that everyone, everywhere, can be empowered by access to fresh, well-grown food.  We teach that eating well includes cultivating good soil, raising a wide diversity of food crops, and that land should be stewarded, not abused, in its agricultural provision.

Your help has built our scarecrows, turned our compost, taught kids to make pesto, refurbished schoolyards, grown popcorn, and answered the call for a million new American green thumbs, growing however they can.  Over the years, we've worked with hundreds of volunteers at Eagle Street Rooftop Farm, planted seeds in schoolyards, and greened city streets.  We've cooked with Edible Estates Lenape garden project, workshopped with Just Food, and advocated for better school meals with Slow Food's Time for Lunch campaign. Thank you, because your help is the foundation to a smarter, sustainable food system.

Growing Chefs is currently hiring educators for our school science partnership with a public school in Brooklyn, New York.  Read more by downloading this document. To work with Growing Chefs, please send a resume and letter of introduction to Annie@GrowingChefs.org
