Island Grown Schools on NPR
Check out the Local Food Report, Elspeth Hay’s radio program on the Cape and Islands NPR station WCAI, which has focused for the last three weeks on Island Grown Schools.
The three part series highlights IGS activities at the Chilmark School. The first piece is about our local snack program, a collaboration between the school and Juli Vanderhoop’s Orange Peel Bakery in Aquinnah; the second focuses on our work to integrate food and agriculture based curriculum in the schools; and the third discusses challenges and opportunities around bringing more local food into school meals.
