Innovations in Optical Networking and FTTH for Your Network

spacer

Telecom customers today are increasingly demanding bandwidth intensive mobile, residential and business services. FTTH rollouts, 3G/4G mobile communications, triple play convergence and cloud computing are also taxing the limits of existing telecom infrastructure. How carriers prepare their network to meet these demands will impact their business performance in years to come. The OptiNet China and China FTTH Forum is where executives and engineers can obtain critical intelligence to support decisions about network upgrades and fiber deployments using the latest optical and IP technologies. An educational program provides an opportunity to hear and meet with industry leaders on such key topics as 40/100Gbit/s deployments, next generation ultra broadband optical transport networks, transitioning to packet transport networks, flexible optical networks, WDM in long haul transmission networks, metro ethernet networks, ROADM technologies, carrier ethernet, mobile backhaul networks, state of the art fiber optic broadband access networks, high speed transmission and switching technology, PON technologies, control plane technologies, test and measurement, plus much more.

For the past eleven consecutive years, the OptiNet China Conference has attracted a rich diversity of optical networking experts from the carrier community, research institutes and the optical communications industry. OptiNet China has addressed the critical issues facing carriers in building and managing optical fiber infrastructure which makes up the vast national telecommunications backbone. With investments in optical networking going strong, now is the time to discuss key deployment, technical as well as business challenges. The appeal of OptiNet China continues to grow as the premier forum for learning, dialogue, knowledge sharing and professional networking. At the 2012 conference the educational program will once again focus on cutting edge, state of the art optical systems, subsystems and components for the core, long haul, metro, transmission and access networks. Register today!

Welcome Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to OptiNet China 2012, the 12th annual conference on optical networking in Beijing. As many of you already know, OptiNet China has evolved through the years and is today a firmly established meeting for carriers, utilities, data centers, cloud service providers, and large enterprises to learn about all areas of optical networking, communications and fiber access.

A lot has been happening in the field of optical communications. Advanced optical and IP technologies are now able to increase bandwidth capabilities while enhancing services efficiently and cost effectively. Through these optical innovations, carriers can deliver the next-generation of highly sought after applications such as Internet of Things, remote health, triple play, cloud computing, mobile backhaul, social networking, IPTV, interactive gaming and beyond.

This year's OptiNet China is once again featuring an educational program to advance your technical knowledge and skills. This important conference also offers you the opportunity to stay informed about the latest developments in optical networking, communications and fiber access technologies. Over two days, you will hear the current issues along with what's ahead presented by experts in the field while being able to take part in lively panel discussions. This conference also features combined sessions on FTTH. OptiNet will bring you together telecom researchers, network planners, network architects and designers, network engineers and operational managers, systems integrators, equipment vendors and chipmakers in a mutually beneficial environment.

I am thrilled to serve again in this capacity as the Conference Chair and welcome you to attend.

Sincerely,
Wei Leping

Over the years optical networking components and systems have benefited from continuous innovations. Many of the technologies are now mature and ready for commercial deployment. At the same time, the explosive growth of traffic, particularly mobile data, has led to a dramatic increase in demand for advanced optical networks and optical communication solutions. Operators worldwide, particularly in a high growth market like China, are looking to add capacity while lowering the cost per bit.

Next-generation long haul transport systems incorporating 100G optics offer to meet current and future bandwidth needs but there are many challenges to their deployment. The upcoming OptiNet China is an opportunity to discuss the issues as well as receive a high level business and technical overview of the many emerging technologies of fiber optical networks and communications including such topics as converged package optical transport, Ethernet transport, smart optical transceivers, carrier Ethernet, MPLS/MPLS-TP, and much more.
