Get involved and support Sulu DC’s work by making a tax-deductible donation. Your support will ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality curated showcases of Asian-American and Pacific Islander artists and expand our programming to serve and support local and regional AAPI artists.
Since its inception in November 2009, Sulu DC…
- Became a resident company at Artisphere
- Received the Outstanding Program Award and Commitment to Diversity in The Arts Award from Georgetown University
- Showcased over 100 local and national artists
- Sulu DC and three of its resident artists featured in The Lantern Review, an online Asian American literary journal
- Branded by The Washington Post as “The Face of DC Poetry”
- Organized the first and second annual AAPI hip-hop concerts at U Street Music Hall
- Performed as a headlining act at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival (July 2010)
- Collaborated with DC APA Film, Kollaboration DC, NAPAWF-DC, and The Jubilee Project
- Produced a show as part of INTERSECTIONS: A New America Arts Festival
