Fans of Project Runway should head to the Downtown Library this Friday at 6 to check out the Project Design Fashion Show featuring the work of local high school and college students. Still need convincing? The models will take the runway to the sounds of DJ Jacoby, and a reception with light food and drinks caps off the evening.

The Washtenaw County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition Offers Free Tax Assistance at the AADL

Starting this Friday, February 2nd and running through the tax season, the AADL in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service's Washtenaw County EITC Coalition is offering FREE tax assistance for those qualified to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit. The Earned Income Tax Credit is a special tax benefit for people who work. If you qualify, you will owe less in taxes, and you may get cash back. Even if you do not owe income tax, you may be eligible for the credit - but you must file a federal tax return!

IRS trained tax preparation volunteers will assist all eligible individuals. An appointment is required. To make an appointment to receive tax assistance in the "aadlfreespace" at the Downtown Library call (734) 544-2954. Appointments are available most Fridays and some Saturdays between the hours of 11am and 3pm.

Alternative dates and times are also available by appointment at both the Ava Maria School of Law and the Michigan Works! Service Center. Call (734) 827-8182 for more information on setting an appointment at one of these locations.
