spacer I got a little tired of all these 'product reviews' that only list the good points, exaggerate a lot and skip all the downsides.

I appreciate honesty (even if it hurts) so I decided to make some review sites with integrity that actually help people make informed decisions.

This site tells you everything - good and bad - about the Dyson DC14. But by all means do more due diligence on the Amazon site itself.

spacer Ok, so why exactly is everyone going crazy about the Dyson DC14 vacuum these days? Well there is a good reason. It is simply one of the best vacuums for the price. However, if you have a lot of carpeted areas in your home, then it’s the best. Period. It has a few snags which I spill for you later but overall it’s performance is exceptional.

If your carpet is a few years old, then this vacuum will find all the dust, dirt and hair your old vacuum left behind. Its quite a shock actually. With other vacuums, you have to go over the same spot three to five times to get it clean. With the DC14, it’s really only necessary once or twice. Many people report that they spend half the time they would usually spend when they vacuum with the Dyson.

Update: This vacuum is currently on sale at Amazon.com through this link.

What I really love is that this machine is bagless so you’ll never have to empty a gross, smelly, dusty bag again. You just have to unclip the dust canister and empty it out. Really easy.

The filters in inside are as fine as 0.1 microns. This ensures nothing is missed out. They even went one step further and added a filter which traps the nasty carbon monoxide fumes from the motor. All this extra care guarantees that your home will always smell fresh and clean with no lingering dust in the air either. Your guests will definitely comment on it. This might be the first time ever that your home is actually truly clean.

The Good:                                                   |

  • Simply the best vacuum for carpets
  • Will outlast most vacuums
  • Dyson’s famous ‘cyclonic’ suction means a fresher home
  • Spend less time cleaning
  • Really good price (most places are 1.5 times this price)
  • Useful attachments

The Bad                                                       |

  • Like all really good vacuums, this one a heavy machine. If you have more than one storey on your house, expect to get some exercise.
  • The tagline ‘Never Loses Suction’ is not 100% accurate. Like all vacuums, if you don’t replace the filters regularly expect it to lose some steam.
  • Some people have reported that the wand attachment is a little awkward to use at times.
  • Here are some extra tips on this vacuum..

This vacuum is perfect for:

  • Those who love the feeling of a clean, fresh home
  • Younger people who want one vacuum for life
  • People with allergies and need high quality air
  • Pet owners who struggle with all the hair everywhere

Let’s take a look at the DC14′s features:

  • Handles all floors
  • Ultra-strong suction from Dyson’s Root Cyclone technology
  • Telescopic section for longer reach
  • Certified by the asthma and allergy foundation with HEPA filter
  • Motorized brushbar
  • Hygienic, big dust canister
  • Really great attachments: wide channel, wand and hose
  • If you want this vacuum, you can get it cheapest at Amazon.com through this link – click here.

My conclusion: You’ll struggle to find a superior vacuum to this one. Of course those large commercial carpet cleaners are better but they also cost triple the price. Never mind that they are completely unusable in a home setting. It seems Dyson is the no-brainer vacuum of choice these days.

Just take a look at what people are saying about it:

I was so tired of buying vacuums that didn’t work well. However I’m totally happy with the DC14 and I wish I got it a long time ago. Worth every cent!

I went completely overboard comparing all the vacuums available these days and I’m glad it all led me to this one. It’s the best vacuum I’ve ever had and I still love it 2 months later. My place smells amazing. Highly recommended.

Amazon had the lowest price and it even arrived 2 days earlier than we thought it would. What used to take us three days to vacuum, now takes us one hour. Oh, and no more sneezing too.

Just used my Dyson for the first time today. Bought it after my Eureka bit the dust (no pun intended) after only 8 months of use. I love this vacuum. It does a great job on my hardwoods and ceramic tile. The suction is great and got lots of dust & dirt even after I had just vacuumed with another sweeper. However, it is not good for berber carpet on anything that has a long pile. I have a small rug that is very long pile and the vacuum makes a terrible noise when trying to vacuum. Get the Dyson Animal if you have indoor.outdoor, long pile, shag, berber carpets or animals in the house
