What I Do
I work as a Ruby on Rails web developer and sometimes designer. This is my personal website which (strangely enough) contains my personal obsessions as well as any experiments and odd tools I build.
Aeon Blue is my one-man consultancy company. I only take jobs involving Ruby, primarily Ruby on Rails.
What I Did
In past jobs and bygone times I was mostly doing C/C++ work on various Linux platforms. Projects involved embedded network projects on both ARM platforms and Intel i386 to userland projects on wireless web pads (10 years before the iPad mind you).
Back in the glorious nineties the Amiga shareware realm saw my share of contributions for several years until Commodore folded. I then worked a bit on Windows. Both professionally and hobby wise but those days are thankfully long over.
Personal Projects
Handy One-liners
A one-liner in computer science is a set of instructions usually formed so it fits one one line that can either be compiled, interpreted or run in a terminal. Programmers and sysadmins often look for one-liners to help them quickly complete a certain task. The more technical end-users can also benefit from one-liners. For instance a one-liner could traverse a directory and do an operation on every filename it finds matching a certain pattern saving them hours of manual labour.
Handy One-liners is a hub for one-liners where people can discover one-liners and keep their personal library of one-liners.
Shared Playlists
Shared Playlists is a site for users of music streaming applications such as Spotify to share playlists and discover new music. It can integrate with a users last.fm account and give the user recommendations for new music.
Lyrics Muse
Lyrics Muse is a mashup of last.fm tracks with lyrics. If you use last.fm Lyrics Muse makes it a breeze to see lyrics for songs you're listening to.
With Lyrics Muse you can also very easily contribute lyrics to songs instead of waiting for the site owners to add them. You can also edit existing lyrics if you find errors in them.
Danske Rejsebureauer
Danske Rejsebureauer is currently a fairly simple site cross-referencing Danish travel agencies.
All or None
One of my first Ruby on Rails projects was converting my Pearl Jam fan site "All or None" from its original implementation in Perl. All or None indexes and cross references Pearl Jam's entire tour history and is fairly comprehensive.
