Born in San Diego, California in 1980, Devin grew up in a very musical environment. His mother studied classical guitar with renowned Spanish guitarist Pepe Romero, and his father played blues and folk guitar. This helped instill in Devin a strong sense of musical individuality and integrity. After the move from California to Washington, Devin went on to study classical piano with Nancy Bussard, composition with the late, great Jim Heinke, and film music with Hummie Mann. In his home town, Devin hosted a radio program devoted to film music and has an encyclopedic knowledge of movie music and the movies in general.

At present, Devin resides in Seattle, Washington, performing as keyboardist and bassist for the theatrical rock group Black Robes, and the synth-pop collaboration Bit Rationale, collaborations with violinist Justin O'Neill as The Brothers Femme, Ben McCombs as Outside, and his own gang of misfits The Billy Club Bandits, as well as composing music for various genres, including solo instrumental works, vocal works, and chamber ensemble.

He recently composed the music score for Tim Boyd's independent film 'Uniforms' starring members of the northwest band Death Cab for Cutie, and his feature film directorial debut is being produced by award winning physicist and former CIA member, Leigh Matheson. His commissioned piece Clockwork Triality, for two violins and piano was performed at Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, Washington on July 26th, 2004, and another work for violin, sax, flute and piano was performed in november. He wrote music for the San Fransico University production of Trifles, a play in one act, and currently has a number of other projects in various states of development, including Tim Boyd's follow up film.
