We’ve noticed there are a lot of companies out there claiming to sell Eco friendly bean bags and we’d like to set the record straight. At EcoSak, we offer organic cotton bean bag chairs that are comfortable and eco-conscious. Many bean bag manufacturers are filling their bags with repurposed foam -- that is, foam that is a byproduct of furniture production. And we think it’s great. We feel there’s really no reason to use polystyrene beans, virgin foam, or vinyl…our landfills simply don’t have room for it all. But we take it a few steps further. All of our green bean bags are covered in soft, silky 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton, and every EcoSak has a liner so you can remove the cover and wash it. Our EcoSak eco friendly bean bags include an organic cotton liner under the cover as well (it’s not an upgrade!), because we think washable furniture is key -- especially if you have pets or children. We believe that green furniture for kids should be easy to clean and long-lasting. That’s why we offer replacement covers, so you can renew your EcoSak after years of enjoyment.
At EcoSak, we understand that no furniture manufacturing can be truly “green”, and we don’t claim to be. We also understand that a lot of people have chemical sensitivities and prefer to buy fabrics and foam without synthetic dyes or additives. The foam is our biggest challenge right now, and we are actively looking for a non-toxic alternative. Until then, we will continue to use re-purposed furniture grade foam with up to 10% Soy because we feel it’s our best option. If you have chemical sensitivities, we would be happy to send you a sample of our foam in advance, so you know for sure whether an EcoSak is right for you before you order. And if you are just not sure what color organic cotton cover will work for your space at home or at the office, just email us with your address and we’ll send you samples of our cotton fabrics too!
