The creator and host of the new TRAVEL THERAPY web series and the globally syndicated TRAVEL THERAPY online editorial videos is a three-time Emmy award-winning lifestyle and travel TV correspondent and multi-media journalist with more than a decade of national and international TV reporting, hosting, producing and writing experience.
Schaler’s new inspiring and empowering TRAVEL THERAPY video series features top trips to take, from around the world, based on what you’re going through in life was inspired by her groundbreaking travel book TRAVEL THERAPY- Where Do You Need to Go?
From working as a TV war correspondent, embedded with a combat Apache helicopter unit in Afghanistan, to crossing the globe as lifestyle host and correspondent for ABC’s national travel show Travel Now, Schaler is an energetic and passionate award-winning TV and multi-media personality.
Since 2010, Schaler has been hosting ABC’s national travel show and producing special spotlight travel features for the show. Schaler is also represented by CAA, working with a top Hollywood producing team to adapt one of her novels into a major motion picture film and Schaler is looking to develop a TRAVEL THERAPY TV reality series highlighting how travel can help empower and change people’s lives.

Schaler’s TV background includes working as an on-air television correspondent for CNN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight and has worked as an anchor/correspondent at WHDH-TV in Boston, KDFW in Dallas and the CBS & ABC affiliates in Phoenix.
Besides her television work Schaler’s publishing credits include The New Yorker, Travel+Leisure, Town & Country, The Boston Globe, NY Daily News, Abcnews.com, Huffington Post, Delta Sky, US Airways Magazine, Islands, Hemispheres, etc.
Schaler, a sought after lifstyle & travel expert, has appeared on top network television and radio shows including: Good Morning America, The Today Show, Fox & Friends, Fox’s America’s News HQ, ABC News Now, MSNBC’s Countdown, CNN, Martha Stewart Living Radio, etc.

With degrees in Communications and Sociology, Schaler has traveled to more than 50 countries and has written more than 900 nationally and internationally published lifestyle & travel articles, including seven national magazine cover stories.
From visiting some of the most luxurious resorts and spas in the world to whitewater rafting in Bali, sailing the British Virgin Islands, hiking and skiing in Switzerland, horseback riding in New Zealand, cave tubing in Belize, dog sledding and ice hiking in the Canadian Rockies, surfing in Hawaii, skiing in Austria, zip-lining, rappelling and ATV’ing in Puerto Rico, snorkeling in Australia, biking in Denmark, camping & fly fishing in the Cascade Mountains and golfing internationally, Schaler has the inside track on amazing vacation destinations.
Schaler credits her hip, edgy writing style and her wanderlust spirit to her background as a television broadcast journalist. She was the first TV journalist ever embedded with troops in Bosnia where she reported live and executive produced, wrote and reported in a half-hour documentary.
In 2007, Schaler was the first journalist ever embedded with a combat Apache helicopter unit in Afghanistan where she reported daily and executive produced, wrote and reported in a one hour documentary. Her exclusive coverage from both Bosnia and Afghanistan earned her Emmys.
Growing up outside of Seattle, Washington, Schaler has lived in ten different states and currently is based in NYC. Constantly globetrotting around the world, Schaler says her home now, “is wherever I put my suitcase.”
