What
information do we collect?
We collect the information we ask for in the forms to list a pet you've
lost or found, and our web server automatically records your domain and
IP address when you visit pages on our site.
What do we do with
the information we collect?
We use the information you enter in the forms to post listings
of lost or found pets, and we keep the IP addresses of visitors
for three days. Your domain and IP address are collected as part of the
normal logging all internet web sites do, and are used to locate and
correct problems with the website. If you enter an incorrect
email address in one of our forms, we will also try to ascertain what
the correct address might be from the IP address. However our skills
are limited pretty much to figuring it out when people type oal.com
instead of aol.com.
What don't we do
with the information we collect?
We don't give away or sell the information to anyone. If we are
presented with a legal warrant we will give any requested informtion to
a legitimate law enforcement agency.
You got spam to an address you only
used for your website.
The email addresses (and phone numbers) we collect are
available on open web pages, although they may be encrypted. We are
currently working on a way to keep that information from being scraped
off the pages, but we do have to be careful to make sure people can
contact you if they have seen your pet, or believe you may have theirs.
