To solve the puzzle you must fill in empty coconuts on a grid so that each row, column, 3x3 box and diagonal lines contain all the digits.
1 through 9 (no repeats)

1. Eliminating values
|
|
The value at (3,7) is not known. |
|
|
|
It cannot be 2 or 8, since those occur in the same row |
|
|
It cannot be 3 or 9, since those occur in the same column. |
|
|
It cannot be 4, 5, 6, or 8 since those also occur on the diagonal. |
|
|
It cannot be 1, 6, or 8 since those occur in the same box. |
|
This means it must be 7 |
|
|
2. Eliminating places
|
Example 1:

|
There must be a 1 in this box, but it is not known where. |
|
|
|
Eliminate places that occur in the same row or column as any other 1. |
|
This leaves only one spot |

Example 2: |
|
There must be a 8 in this row, but it is not known where. |

|
Eliminate places that occur in the same column, box, or diagonal as any other 8. |

This leaves only one spot. |

3. Restrictions
|
|
There must be a 6 in this box, but it is not known where. |

|
The 6 in this column must occur in that box, so the 6 in the box is restricted to that column. |

There must be a 6 in this row. |

|
Further eliminate the places that occur in the same row or column as any other 6. |
