Amersham Chess Congress : 18-20 May 2012

Following a mix up at Sunningdale regarding our event booking (for which we apologise) we have moved the event to the great Latimer Place Hotel in Chesham (near Amersham) which is appropriately enough located in the beautiful Chess Valley.

There will be three 5 round sections, and the for the first time all three will be FIDE rated.  There will be an Open, Challengers (Under 2000 / 170) and Major (Under 1750 / 140).

As usual, we have great rates for guests staying at the hotel and there is discounted entry for those who staying.  We hope to see you there.

A bookstall will be provided by Chess & Bridge Ltd.

London Diamond Jubilee International : 2-6 June 2012

To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II we are hosting a special one off event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at London Gatwick Airport over the double bank holiday weekend at the beginning of June. 

There will be three sections ; a 9 round FIDE rated open at which GM and IM norms will be possible plus two 7 round events.  The FIDE rated Challengers is restricted to players rated below 2050 (or graded under 175 if unrated) whilst the FIDE rated Major is restricted to players rated below 1800 (or graded under 145 if unrated). 

We've only been able to secure 50 rooms at the hotel at our special discounted rates and when they are gone, they're gone - so book early to avoid disappointment!

9 May - Please note, we have sold out of standard rooms but have managed to acquire 20 superior rooms. These are available on a first come first served basis only.

Buxton Chess Congress : 29 June-1 July 2012

We travel for the first time to Buxton's Palace Hotel, situated within 5 acres of grounds in the beautiful spa town of Buxton on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

The hotel is beautiful, Buxton is beautiful.  We hope the weather will be beautiful!  What more could you want?

Oh yes - some chess!  Well, there will be three 5 round sections, with the Open and Major FIDE rated.  The Open is a FIDE rated swiss, open to all players ; the Major is also FIDE rated and open to players rated below 1950 (or graded below 165 if unrated) with the Minor open to players with an ECF grade below 135.

A bookstall will be provided by Chess Direct Ltd.
