- Biosensors
- Analytical microsystems
- Environmental, process control and biomedical applications
- Signal processing
- Sensor and sensor-array chemometrics
- Physics of materials such us: classification of physical effects, measurement theory, modelling of sensors etc.
Program
The technical program of International Conference on Materials and Applications for Sensors and Transducers will be announced as soon as the review process terminates. The conference is a single oral session event with poster and exhibition sessions.
The keynote speaker of IC-MAST is Prof José Manuel Barandiaran, Professor of Applied Physics, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) Bilbao (Spain).
The invited speakers are: Dr Tapas Sen, University of Central Lancashire, Dr Quentin Ramasse, Scientific Director of the SuperSTEM Laboratory and Dr Ioannis Raptis from the Institute of Microelectronics at the NCSR 'Demokritos'.
There are several sessions that have been submitted to IC-MAST.
For details, visit the Program link from the main menu.
Presentations and Proceedings
Participants can submit a presentation proposal as:
- oral presentation
- poster presentation
- virtual presentation (Presentation of the paper without attending the Conference).
Conference Proceedings will be published in Key Engineering Materials, a journal that covers the entire range of basic and applied aspects of the synthesis and characterization, modelling, processing and application of advanced engineering materials. The periodical is indexed by Elsevier: SCOPUS www.scopus.com and Ei Compendex (CPX) www.ei.org/. Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA) www.csa.com, Chemical Abstracts (CA) www.cas.org, Google and Google Scholar google.com, ISI (ISTP, CPCI, Web of Science) www.isinet.com, Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) www.iee.org, etc.
Full papers will be published in special issues in the following journals (both are indexed by ISI in Web Of Science):
- The Journal of Optoelectronics and Advanced Materials
- Sensor Letters

Venue
Budapest, one of the most beautiful historical capitals in Europe, is situated on the banks of the Danube. The city actually consists of three parts: Óbuda, the oldest section, with Celtic and Roman ruins, Buda in the hills on the western bank, famous for its historic Castle Hill and beautiful residential area, and bustling Pest with its shopping, governmental and commercial districts on the flat plain of the eastern bank.
The architectural beauty with its monuments from neo-classic through baroque to eclectic art nouveau is prevalent in the city. Budapest is also world famous for its artistic abundance of concerts, operas, recitals, galas and exhibitions.
The city is also well known for its one of Europe`s largest bath complexes, in fact there is no other capital city in the world with almost 100 thermal springs and 12 medicinal baths within its boundaries, where 19 million gallons of thermal water rise to the surface each day. The atmosphere of Roman bathing culture may be felt in its light, spacious pool halls, while Greek bathing culture is reflected in the tub baths, but traces of Nordic traditions may also be found in the heat chambers, saunas and dipping pools.
The warm hospitality of people, excellent food and wine, reliable and frequent public transportation, vivid cultural life, rich museums attract millions of visitors every year.
Last but not least, one may unwind over strong coffee and sweet cake in an old, cozy café. There were more than 400 coffeehouses in Budapest at the turn of the 20th century, attracting everyone, and some of the best are still in business today.

IC-MAST History
IC-MAST was established as an annual meeting in order to:
- focus on hybrid systems and materials structures used for sensing and energy transducing systems
- presents new, better and less expensive ways to translate a sensing idea into a working product and
- create a single session meeting in order to allow researchers in the above fields to interact with each other
The 1st IC-MAST was held at Kos Island, Greece during 13-17 May, 2011. The Proceedings of the Conference have been published in Key Engineering Materials, volume 495.
IC-MAST 2011 received about 250 submissions from over 20 countries and regions. All submissions went through a rigorous peer review process and each paper received at least 2 review reports. Finally, 87 papers were selected to be presented in the Conference from the Scientific Committee and the Session Organizers. Download the IC-MAST 2011 Book of Abstracts here.
