Welcome to Youth Theatre
University of Utah Youth Theatre (UUYT) is dedicated to empowering youth to skillfully participate in the performing arts as a vehicle to explore their creativity, engage in their community and think critically about the world. For over twenty-five years, UUYT has been providing high quality out of school time theatre arts programs for young people along the Wasatch Front.
Youth Theatre at the U
Youth Theatre has a unique relationship with the University of Utah. As an entity of the Department of Theatre, the organization's staff is comprised of University faculty, staff, and students, complimented by a mix of professional guest artists from the Salt Lake community and the national young people's theatre community.
2011-2012 Season
The UUYT Production Season provides students with excellent performance and audience opportunities. These productions introduce young people to new works and some of the best children’s plays in the modern repertoire.
Classes and Workshops
Education programs at Youth Theatre inspire creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. Professional teaching artists lead students through engaging, interactive sessions in our University classrooms.
