HELM Training Programme 2012

HELM Training courses are free of charge (unless stated) and funded through the HELM training programme. Please read the section in the promotional leaflet detailing 'who should attend?' to see whether a course is appropriate for you.
 
If your job role is not in the target audience for the course you can still add your name to the waiting list, as last minute places may become available.

English heritage are planning to hold NPPF Discussion Sessions

These free half day sessions  will provide an opportunity to discuss English Heritage's interpretation of the NPPF in order to promote understanding of NPPF, its implications for the management of heritage assets, and its use in plan and decision-making.  The session will explore the language and terminology used in NPPF and how this differs from the PPS5.  It will give delegates an opportunity to interact with a broad cross section of interests; the events are open to Local Planning Authority officers, planners, elected members, heritage professionals, consultants & developers, amenity groups and the voluntary sector. For further details on each course, click on the links below.

23 May. The Setting of Heritage Assets. Leicester. This course will provide delegates with a good range of case studies, which will develop the information presented in the guidance. By working through examples we hope to help delegates improve their understanding of best practice when considering the setting of heritage assets. There will also be plenty of opportunity to share best practice with colleagues, discuss issues and network to develop a more consistent approach in considering setting issues and making judgments. We invite people to come along to the course with an historic asset in mind for a HPA and to bring the partners they will be working with.   • National Planning Policy Framework
    The National Planning Policy Framework was published on 27 March 2012, replacing all the previous Planning Policy Statements, including PPS 5, as well as various other planning guidance. Its central theme is the ‘presumption in favour of sustainable development’, set out in twelve core land-use planning principles which underpin both plan-making and decision-taking.
