INFO

AN OVERVIEW

Telluride Helitrax will begin our 30th season of operations on 12/29/12 and complete trips for the season on 4/10/12, weather and snow conditions permitting.

We operate in some of the highest ski terrain in North America: ranging in elevation from 10,000 to 13,500 feet. Each run drops 1,000 to 3,000 feet—approximately 300-800 meters. Our special use permit area encompasses over 200 square miles of high alpine basins, cirques and summits surrounding Telluride to the North, South & East.

Telluride Helitrax is one of the most experienced yet personal heli-ski operations in the U.S. Up to twenty seats are available each day, but the average is only twelve. Skiers are sorted by reservation groups, ability and helicopter load weight. We try to accommodate groups but a private cabin ensures riding together.

Each day includes six runs of guided heli-skiing, food & drinks, ski and safety equipment (sorry we do not provide snowboards). You need only to wear your normal ski clothes and ski boots. Unfortunately due to weight constraints, we cannot accommodate packs.

Heli-skiing can be strenuous; a reasonable fitness condition is encouraged. Strong adventurous-intermediate through expert skiers will find our terrain both fun and spectacular. Snowboarders are always welcome, but should be comfortable with long traverses.

Although we heli-ski in avalanche terrain, our avalanche forecast program is top notch—as is our safety record. If inclement weather interferes with your heli-ski trip you can reschedule or your deposit will be refunded.
