> About USMSS
AdvocacyIn collaboration with the Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA), the USMSS participates in virtually every Federal Communication Commission (FCC) wireless policy, regulatory and allocation proceeding that affects member organizations and the provision of USMSS communication services to customers. Recent activities have included initiatives to make 12.5 kHz interstitial channel available at 800 MHz, lifting the licensing freeze on new systems at 900 MHz, rule revisions to accommodate the identification of exclusive channels for centralized trunked systems, licensing issues associated with TETRA system deployments, identifying spectrum for mobile vehicular repeaters, maintaining the future availability of the land mobile T-Band allocations, and many other advocacy initiatives. To stay fully informed of all critical advocacy initiatives that effect your business and your customers’ wireless communication investments, USMSS members are encouraged to participate in EWA sponsored “Member Regulatory Forum” teleconferences that are held every other Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. (EST), during which matters before the FCC and the industry are discussed. There is no cost to participate and attendees are encouraged to ask questions and comment on topics presented. Topics of discussion and teleconference instructions are circulated to all members in advance of each forum. For urgent news, USMSS members will receive Special Member Bulletins from EWA. Social
