I hold 4 and 5 Day courses in the Spring, Summer and Autumn (see below for dates). I also have regular groups who meet weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on a termly basis. My courses are geared to individuals and their aspirations and abilities. Everyone is different and my classes are small enough to give attention to everyone, from beginners to more advanced painters.

I have a structured approach so that artists can concentrate on one stage at a time, building up their confidence and ability. The most important thing to me is that artists really enjoy their time here and discover their own interests and style in what is such a large and varied subject.

Work produced by students on my courses

Depending upon the time of year, the subjects to be painted will be topical e.g primroses, camellias and rhododendrons in the early spring right through to the autumnal flowers, fruits, vegetables and fungi later in the season. This year I shall hold a later course at the end of October to coincide with the Heligan Harvest when a magnificent display is created of all the pumpkins, squashes and other vegetables.

Anyone wishing to bring their own subject to paint is very welcome to do so.

The studio is spacious, well-lit, equipped with a library of useful reference books and contains all that you will need apart from your own painting materials. A list of recommended items will be sent to you upon receipt of your completed booking form.
