If you are currently on the judges list and fail to attend your name will be removed and you will not be eligible to judge any High school or Jr high rodeos. Anyone who desires to work High school or Jr high rodeos as and arena director must attend the clinic June 9th 2012 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Burton Coliseum Lake Charles La. You would then be eligible for two years. You can check the current list of arena directors to determine if you must attend this year. Each club should consider sending one person so they would have someone qualified to work there rodeo. Should you have any questions you can contact the LHSRA secretary and if she cannot answer your question she can direct you to the person who can.

NHSRA Member Programs: Several programs have come to light recently that the NHSRA offers to its members. Choice Hotels International supports High School Rodeo Associations providing a 15% discount on all rooms booked using your State Code. Choice Hotels will provide a royalty to our Association for every room booked using the Code. In order to receive the discount and royalty you MUST book the reservation through the sport reservation hotline by calling 1-877-240-2929 or go to www.choicesportstravel.com. The Louisiana code is 00209060. You must make your reservation from one of these two options. (That means you may call from the hotel parking lot of the hotel you are staying, as long as you make the reservation by using the 877 toll free number. The royalty code cannot be given when you check in at the desk.) Also, this benefit is not limited to members; you may share this code with friends and family!

Also, DODGE RODEO offers to NHSRA members a Preferred Price of 1% below factory invoice when purchasing or leasing select Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicles. Members must obtain a control number by using the NHSRA code (D08957) by going to www.dc-rewards.com or call 1-888-444-4321 and choosing Option #2. Once you have obtained your control number, take your membership card, along with a marriage license or some other similar documentation showing a relationship to the NHSRA member to any participation Dodge dealership. After verification you may select from any new Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle. (Dodge Viper and Mercedes-Benz are not eligible.) On behalf of the Corbin Carpenter Memorial Foundation, our committee has decided to make a cookbook. This is not just any cookbook but one that will include favorite recipes while traveling the rodeo road! We want eveyone's favorite recipe(s) they have made in their trailers while camping at a rodeo. Also, we want humorous stories about cooking/eating while camping at rodeos. These recipes and stories can be emailed to me at carpenterbarcc@aol.com or mailed to us at P O Box 238, Jonesville, LA 71343 or given to any of the committee members at the rodeos. Proceeds will go toward scholarships and the awards program.

IMPORTANT NEW GROUND RULE!!!!  Effective immediately!

34. In addition to the rule on attire outlined in the NHSRA rule book the following will apply at all LHSRA Rodeos. If a High School and Jr. High Division Rodeo is held the same weekend it will be considered one (1) event and all members of LHSRA attending or contesting must be in full western attire at all times with number displayed on back. If a High School Rodeo is held as a single event, Jr. High Division Members will not be required to comply to the LHSRA dress code and must not present their numbers as a means of free entry into the rodeo. If you choose to gain free admission you must be in full western attire and remain in such during the entire event. This applies to high school members who attend a Jr. High Division Rodeo that is held as a single event. When attending or contesting at the LHSRA Finals Rodeo, both High School and Jr. High Division you must comply to the dress code as stated above. The finals will be considered one (1) event when they are held back to back. This ground rule will be enforced by any current board member of the LHSRA. If not in compliance as required, immediate disqualification can occur or the non-compliance by said member can be brought to the Board of Directors for sanctions that the board deems appropriate for the infraction. (Added November 2011 ).
