Tufte’s newest tome on the art of information design, or whatever he calls it these days. I really don’t do much design of any sort, but find the stuff fascinating to look at and even read about. Here’s a list of things from the book that I’d love to have poster size and hang somewhere:
And a few notes:

The rage to conclude:
The rage for wanting to conclude is one of the most deadly and most fruitless manias to befall humanity. Each religion and each philosophy has pretended to have God to itself, to measure the infinite, and to know the recipe for happiness. What arrogance and what nonsense! I see, to the contrary, that the greatest geniuses and the greatest works have never concluded. Gustave Flaubert, 154
Giles Bowkett: Tiny APIs - "the difference between doing something just like something somebody else did and doing something the way somebody else did it is the difference between being an imitator and being a student. Don't imitate. Study."
Swiss Graphic Design History - a photoset on Flickr - This all looks very cool and worth really looking at sometime.

French Suites - Johann Sebastian Bach - Piano Society - I'm looking to take up piano again. I played as a kid and wasn't half bad, but never learned to read music and gave up in an act of preteen rebellion.
The Best Exercise You're Not Doing - I've been trying to come up with a good non-gym leg exercise for the summer, this doesn't look bad at all.
John Bolton getting Nailed on BBC - "there's no moral difference between a stealth bomber and a suicide bomber." Both are ways to kill innocent people in the name of politics.

Soccer Practice - Gym again, the weather really needs to turn back to nice.
Soccer Practice - In the gym because it’s freezing and there’s a foot of snow on the ground (damn weather). Easy compared to yesterday, good time.
Soccer Practice - Crazy day. I didn’t really pick up on the fact that it was freezing, and so was out in shorts and a tshirt. Dude broke his thumb. For 20 minutes it snowed flakes the size of wheaties. And all of this after some bad...
Soccer Practice - Inside due to cruddy weather, good practice nonetheless.
Strength/Speed - Last session, lifting day 1.
Soccer Practice - In the gym, easy practice. Speed of play!
Soccer Practice - The turf field will tear you up. Good practice, agility and ball work followed by world cup. My team played the finals of 3 and won 2 of 4 rounds. I think that the lifting I’ve been doing has helped out my shot a...
