G7TO has once again been upgraded to keep up with the designers (this time) at Lowrance (LEI). Version 3.03.04 can down/upload Waypoints, Routes, Tracks, and Icons for saving or displaying on Street Atlas 5/6.

The general procedure to download data is to use the following (single) command line:

 g7to[w] -6 [baud] [-2] -i lwr[w][i][r][1][2] -a >filename.txt -r s*h
 -o c:\atlas5\filename.sa5 -w so[vs][s][m][l][vl] -w x1,12 -q7

Explanation of the above commands:
 g7to =run g7to.exe
 g7tow =run g7tow.exe
-6 =set baud-rate (if not the default of 115200)*
   *Some receiver/computer combinations will only support
   9600 baud.
 baud =baud-rate set in the receiver

 [-2] =com port. [-2],[-3], or [-4] supported. (none specified =com 1)

-i lwr =Input (download) from the LoWRance receiver:
 w =Waypoints
 i =Icons
 r =Routes
 1 =saved trail-1
 2 =saved trail-2

-a >filename.txt =create ASCII text file, filename.txt

-r s*h =the Route Style will be *Highlighter

-o =Output (to whatever follows):
 c:\atlas5\filename.sa5 =output a Street Atlas file and place it in the
   Atlas5 directory

-w =do the following to the display of Waypoints on Street Atlas:
 so =set Size of Street Atlas Object (or icon):
 vs =icon size is Very Small (default)
 s =icon size is Small
 m =icon size is Medium
 l =icon size is Large
 vl =icon size is Very Large

-w =do the following to the display of Waypoints on Street Atlas:
 x1,12 =in this case: eXchange the LEI default icon in Street Atlas
   (No. 1, an "Education" icon), to Street Atlas icon (No. 12, a
   circle "dot" icon).  See: g7to.doc line 874 for the icon
   conversion table for the Garmin, LEI, and Street Atlas 
   icons.

-q =suppress certain waypoint fields in the Street Atlas display
 7 =suppress 1 (waypoint comments) + 2 (routepoint comments) +
   4 (symbol display parameter) = 7.

NOTES:

1. g7tow is actually a windows program run in a DOS window accessing the protected-mode memory.

2. -i lwr[ ] can have any combination of w,i,r,1,2 to download and display on Street Atlas whatever data is desired.

3. Without -w sos, the icons on Street Atlas would be very small and hard to read.  However, if all waypoints have DEFAULT icons, then without -w sos and retaining -w x1,12 they become reasonable-sized "very small" "dots".

4. -q[ ] is the summation of the number "title" of certain suppressed Street Atlas displays listed under 'sa output only' options in the .DOC file.  Add the "titles" of what is wanted to suppress and put the number in [ ].

5. When downloading or uploading waypoints, press "y" to stop
the transfer after the number of stored waypoints has been
exceeded.

The general procedure to upload data is to use the following (single) command lines:

Uploading data saved in text files:

 g7to[w] -6 [9600] -i filename.txt -o lwr[sn][1] or lwr[sn][2]
Explanation of the above commands:

-i filename.txt =Input the data in filename.txt to memory.
-o lwr1 =Output to the LEI receiver the contents of memory.

In the case of: 'lwr1', TRACK data contained in the file will be loaded
into Trail-1, and if one uses 'lwr2', track data will be loaded into Trail-2 (except as noted below).  For other data, it doesn't make any difference whether [1],[2],or none is used.

However it should be pointed out for "ex" Garmin users, where there are MANY track segments in a typical track file, only the FIRST track segment will be uploaded.  If the [1] or [2] isn't used, then g7to will upload the first track segment into Trail-1 and the second track segment (separated by an "N" line) into Trail-2.  If you have a Garmin track, all "N New Track Starts" in the track text file must be edited out in order to upload the entire track.

In the case of:  'lwr[sn]', NEW waypoints uploaded would normally overwrite any stored waypoints in LEI receivers; however, sn =Start waypoint loading with waypoint Number 'n' (usually the first open waypoint slot) where 'n' must be within the waypoint storage capability of the receiver.

Uploading data saved in Street Atlas files:

The command line is:
 g7to -6 [9600] -o lwr -i filename.sa5

Explanation of the above commands:
'filename.sa5' can contain any combination of Draw Objects, Waypoints, Routes, Tracks (up to two), or Icons.
Note:  Only one route created by Street Atlas can be uploaded to the GPS. Multiple routes created in the receiver can be down/uploaded.

INSTRUCTION FOR DOWNLOADING SCREEN DUMPS FROM LEI RECEIVERS

The command line is:
 g7to[w] -6 [9600] -7 -o filename.bmp**

Explanation of the above commands:
-7 =send screen data
 filename.bmp =the resultant screen-dump file
 
** Aren't you glad THIS one is a heck of a lot simpler!!!
