Two months ago, Lacey Buchanan took the brave decision to share her story and the story of her son Christian with the world via Youtube.

In her moving and emotional video you see her share through hand-written signs the story of Christian’s short life. From the elation she and her husband experienced when they discovered she was pregnant to the devastation when they learned that he had serious medical problems…and on to the horror of hearing from a total stranger that she was a ‘horrible person’ for not aborting him before he was born.

You see Christian was born with a condition called Tessier cleft. He was born with no eyes and with a severely cleft palate. Lacey shares the hurt of being stared at and whispered about wherever she went and the pain of hearing other children ask “what’s wrong with ‘that baby’”.

She goes on to share how his giggles in the face of constant stares and whispers create a reaction of giggles and joy in return…and how this beautiful child’s soul is touching the lives of strangers who might otherwise have judged him on his appearance alone.

The video is so moving that I recommend anyone take a few minutes out of their day to watch it…you will be overwhelmed by the power of real, unconditional, pure and unadulterated love.

What is so beautiful about this video is not only seeing this woman share her heart so openly with the world…but the pure love you can see between her and her son…which is so much more powerful than any discrimination or narrow-minded judgement.
