About

Rockhaven, at the base of Sheep Rock on the Gallatin River, is owned and operated by First Presbyterian Church of Bozeman, Montana. Rockhaven Camp was founded in 1925 when ten acres of the original Benham Ranch were given to the church. On this portion of the three hundred and twenty acres owned by Sedgewick Benham, there had been a lodge along the road for folks traveling up and down the Gallatin Canyon.

spacer On July 28, 1928, Rockhaven Chapel was dedicated to the Glory of God. Services of worship for travelers and people of the church and the canyon were begun under the leadership of the Rev. Herman G. Klemme who was pastor of First Presbyterian Church at that time.

In 2003 an elegant foot bridge was built to span the Gallatin River providing easy access to the camp property on the east side of the river–effectively doubling the size of the camp.

spacer Rockhaven Bible Day Camp began in 2002, and this summer ministry outreach has grown each year since then. Day and residential camp offerings led by a full time summer staff have included age group camps, adventure camp, fly fishing camp, music camp, and art camp. Over 200 campers from the Gallatin Valley and beyond come to Rockhaven every summer.

Rockhaven is a unique and inspiring place for the worship of God and growth in Christian faith. It continues to be a place where folk from far and wide gather at the river.
