Munire Kirmaci Industrial Designer

Munire Kirmaci, known as Mimi or Mama Rosa to her friends, is a product designer currently based in Brooklyn, New York and employed at Chelsea Atelier in a freelance capacity.

Kirmaci’s most recent Wounded Vase appears at the Guggenheim Museum as part of a current exhibition entitled Haunted.

The Turkish-born Taurus made her debut at the MOMA Design Store in New York in 2008 with Salt and Pepper Shaker, a popular product that quickly sold out and is currently recommissioned for placement in New York and Istanbul beginning this year.

Kirmaci received a BFA in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2001 and a Masters in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in 2006.
