Customized Websites with Competitive Pricing

What Will It Cost?

My tracking software tells me that this “pricing” page is the first page most people visit when they come to my site. I understand that “How much it might cost” is the first thing most of us want to know. Telling you that my hourly fee is $120 doesn’t really tell you much, because your next question is: “Well, how many hours will my job take and how much will my job cost?”

We won’t know the answers to that until we’ve talked a little bit. However, I can tell you that I’ve built some perfectly functional and cleanly designed websites for under $300 (Here’s a $300 website) and I’ve also built some powerfully functional and esthetically unique websites for over $10,000. (Here’s a $10,000+ website).

What Affects Costs?

Obviously the requirements, scope and complexity of the website you want most affect your pricing, but other factors, like how well prepared you are, and how many design iterations we require also will affect the price.

Getting an Estimate:

Initial consultations with me are always free and often quite detailed. Then, once we decide to go forward with a project, before I even ask for any deposit, I typically do a fair bit of groundwork. Many times I build a quick proposal/prototype of your site. (Here’s a sample proposal site.) You and I then review the “rough draft” prototype together to make sure that we’ve communicated clearly. If we both agree that it looks like I can deliver the result you desire, then I’ll come up with a fairly accurate cost estimate and ask for an opening deposit (25% – 50% of the estimate, depending on the size of the job). Then I get to work on the coding and design work in earnest.

Over the month of May 2012, more process information and pricing tables to be added to this page.
