'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE DISCMAS
december 21, 2006 // 1:48am
'twas the night before discmas, and all through the house
not a creature was stirring, except for steve
he was sitting at his computer,
updating his long-neglected website.
he was listening to public enemy
and had just finished some
johnnie walker
black label on the rocks.
he started his first sentence thinking
"I'm going to make this all rhyme"
then, he gave up on that idea in the very next sentence.
there ya go. I'm back. and I've been a bad, bad --- ok, I'm going to
say it... I've fought it off all this time, but I'll say it --- blogger.
wow, that sounded dirty and dorky and goofy. it made me shudder a little.
I'm going to try to never refer to myself as that ever again. I'm just
a guy who has a website and occasionally writes some crap on it. but
not very often. so please don't call me a blogger ever again. it upsets
me.
anyway yeah, here we are again. another year almost over. this was a
good one. I don't feel like recapping it just yet. I think, traditionally,
this is my "oh tomorrow's discmas and it's gonna be great" post. so I'll
save the looking back/looking forward to when I'm drunk on new years
eve/day or so. gotta stick to the rules.
but yeah, I have this site here, and it basically sits around collecting
dust. I just clicked that "recent entries" dropdown and saw that only
two of them ended in 06. looks like it was just to commemorate the important
events of the year, like when I turned 29 and when I killed a bug. fascinating!
that last paragraph started to veer towards a "I should redo this and
make some big things happen!" but this paragraph is about telling that
last paragraph that it's being stupid.
...pause...
...ok, I just got reflective for a moment and went back to reading the early 2001 posts on this site thing here. and that distracted me. although
the stuff I wrote back then seems much more fascinating now that I re-read
it, so I'll stop writing here, and just tell you to jump back to the
beginning and read stuff from when I wrote frequently. maybe in 2007
I'll get back into that habit. but, um, that's probably unlikely. but
hey who knows?
ok, I'm out. happy holidays, and things of that nature!
