My personal journey has taken me from being heavily vested in the status quo, to being a questioner of the same, and finally, to my present position of troublemaker. I prefer to think of myself as an outsider. That puts me in good company because several of my friends are outsiders, as were the prophets of old.

I am troubled by the fact there is such a breakdown with so many of the societal structures we count on. There is a growing dissonance between the need and the reality and people are becoming increasingly aware of this brokenness. The Tea Party, the Occupy Movement, and open rebellion around the world are some ways that people have responded to their feelings of being taken advantage of.

What’s the problem? An over reaching, over taxing, over spending government? Greedy executives who receive million dollar bonuses while the rest of us struggle to survive? Companies that are not responsive to their customers? An outdated educational system that is overpriced and failing to prepare people for real life jobs? Social service agencies that run programs rather than help people improve their life situation? Faith organizations that really don’t resemble the one they say they serve?

People are seriously affected by these broken structures, but those who are heavily vested in them have too much at stake to honestly face what is happening.

The secret for correcting these broken structures is not reformation or revolution, but to make them irrelevant through new, creative approaches.

I hope that you will join me as I try to stir up that kind of creativity. That’s my driving passion, though I will probably write about other things too.

All of this will be much, much better if you get involved in the conversation. So, please leave a comment when something strikes you.

P.S. I have copied over several articles from previous sites I used, but was unfortunately unable to retain the comments on those articles.
