Transnational Online Debate

About PERARES Online Debate

Transnational Knowledge Debates serve as a way to articulate research requests from civil society organisations (CSOs) and submit these requests to the collective research capacity of all Living Knowledge members and beyond. This discussion tool has been initiated by members of a European consortium, Public Engagement with Research and Research Engagement with Society (PERARES). The consortium’s members represent universities, civil society organisations and science shops that carry out collaborative research with civil society organisations.

Through the Knowledge Debate, the PERARES consortium aims to strengthen interaction in formulating research agendas between civil society and its organisations; and researchers and research institutions. We want to show how dialogues can lead to real follow up. This Knowledge Debate focuses on setting research questions and does not just provide an opportunity for discussion.

After reading some of the material on this site, you may think that we could be of assistance to you or your organisation by doing research. You don’t need to submit a ready made, totally well formulated research question. If you suggest your research question idea, you will get a reply from the moderator or other participants, on the site, and together we will further shape the research proposals.

If you have any knowledge or research time to help tackle the research questions that are formulated, or if you can help shape a good research proposal, you are most welcome to add to the dialogue! Feedback will be provided on this site about which questions were taken forward for research, and outcomes will be posted here.
