Welcoming the Torch in style

The Olympic torch will receive a truly Northern Irish welcome when it arrives on the North Coast, as the 14-day festival lineup has just been revealed and has a real mix of activities and events designed to showcase the area and celebrate the once in a life-time visit of the flame.

In addition to the previously announced star-studded concert on Sunday 3rd June with performances by X Factor stars Janet Devlin and Kitty Brucknell (tickets for which have been fully allocated) the programme launches with a horse show on Saturday 26th May and will continue with a series of sensational musical performances, amatuer golf tournaments, coasteering, and children’s workshops.

On Monday 4th June, the torch will pass through the borough and will follow the route from Portrush through Coleraine, Articlave and Castlerock. Fans can bid farewell to the Torch in a special ceremony at Downhill Beach. Downtown Radio will follow the celebrations with a live broadcast on the day.
