Another new website layout

I think it's getting to be about time for another layout change on this website.

I've been doing a fair amount of design work on the Cornerstones of Trust website and will be meeting with the San Juaqine Sheriffs Association next month to do some volunteer work on their website.

For my own website, I kind of want to have a media/news style where you get headers and story previews on the main page along with media without having to scroll.

As another friend put it, I want to get more information "Above the fold".

So the rotors on the Durango have been chattering and causing pedal / wheel chatter when applied, so they are not operating at optimal efficiency. This is the second set of rotors for the truck since we've owned it.

A while ago, I purchased some slotted/drilled rotors from Summit Racing for the Dakota and they are working really well, no chatter, no fading, gobs of stopping power; so I decided to order the same thing from Summit Racing again.

Why do we need new laws like SOPA / PIPA when DMCA seems to be working fine?

A day after the internet blackout in protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and it's senate twin Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA); A federal indictment accused Megaupload.com of costing copyright holders at least $500 million in lost revenue. According to ABC News.

Sunday, I took my son out to the range for a bit of father-son bonding and sending lead down range. Aaron did really good with his first 10 rounds, getting 2 within the 10-ring at 7 yards.

Below is a video of him shooting.

There are more pictures from the day if you "read more"

Martin McKeay has an article Write to learn, learn to progress where he talks about his history of blogging and how it has helped his career, this is a very good post with many good points. I've halfheartedly been blogging since 2004 and one thing I've realized is in order to be a good blogger and get "followers" you need to read other peoples blogs and contribute to ongoing "conversations".

This is a presentation I did for my "Language and Communication: Presentation". For my research project I wanted to determine, based on pollution from the generation of electricity if an electric vehicle was any more environmentally friendly than a comparable gasoline engine.

With current power generation techniques in the US, it's not.

Electric Vehicles are not "Green"

Electric Vehicles are not "Green"

Over the last several years there has been much advancement in the automotive industry around hybrid technology as well as electric vehicles (EVs). There is also a lot of hype in the media around being "Green" or environment friendly. However, research shows that the production and operation of a pure electric car is no better to the environment and produces roughly the same greenhouse gasses as a traditional petroleum powered passenger car; this is because the majority of electricity needed to power an electric car is produced by burning fossil fuels; transmission and storage of electricity for electric cars is inefficient; and the materials used to store electricity for these cars must be mined, refined and shipped before they can be turned into batteries.
