The Metro East Division of the Home Builders Association and Rods and Relics of Dallas are hosting the 5th Annual “Cars for CASA” Show. The fund raising event will be held on May 20th, 2012 at the Harbor in Rockwall, Texas and will benefit Lone Star CASA. Help CASA get the word out by downloading this Flyer and e-mail it or post it somewhere.
1st & 2nd Class Awards will be presented for Cars (21 categories), Trucks (5 categories) and Motorcycle(6 categories). Awards also for Best of Show – Car, Truck, Motorcycle and RatRod. HBA and Rods and Relics members will also be judging your vehicles on Best Engine, Best Graphics, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best HBA Members Award.
Bring all of you club members as there is also a Club Participation Award. 100% of the proceeds go to “LONE STAR CASA, INC”. There will be LOTS of door prizes, LOTS of Awards, food court and Rock N’ Roll music. Free T-Shirt and dash plaque for the first 50 entries.
Last year, over 300 vehicles took part in the 4th Annual Cars for CASA Show. Participating car enthusiasts and over 2,500 visitors helped raise more than $20,000 for Lone Star CASA.

Lonestar Casa 5k
The date for the Lone Star CASA – Speak Up For Kids CASA 5K is Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium. One of the central goals is to produce a first-class race offering on-line registration and chrono-chip timing through RUNON Texas, a professional race company who will manage the race.
The 2011 CASA 5K Run/Walk will include a special Kids Fun Run and family-friendly wrap around activities such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Bear and mobile unit, informational booths on CASA and child abuse, fitness and health, WIC, foster care, police, kids face painting, clowns, bounce house, EMS, local vendors, and many more.
Proceeds from this 5K event benefit Lone Star CASA in our efforts to recruit and train CASA volunteers to give a “voice” to abused and neglected children in court and the foster care system.
Your participation makes a difference! So, walk, run, or jog on Saturday, November 5, 2011, and give a voice to our local child victims of neglect and abuse.

The Big Voices for Little Texans license plate graphic is now online at the Texas Department of Transportation website. In addition, the online application is updated and displays “CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocate.” See the revised information online now.
What is CASA?
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That’s where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn’t continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system.
As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive.
It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
