This model has provided Freightquote.com with incredible growth throughout its history, and we remain committed to our philosophy as we look to the future.
History
Entrepreneur Tim Barton founded Freightquote.com in August of
1998. The first nine months were spent developing the company's technology and carrier
partnerships. The web site launched in May of 1999. By year's end, Barton had added
over 50 associates to keep up with growth and the demand for Freightquote.com services.Freightquote.com grew quickly and steadily. At the end of 2002, revenues topped $46 million; and by 2004, revenues were over $86 million. For 2005, the company had annualized revenues of over $130 million. Freightquote.com made a significant acquisition in December 2005 with the purchase of Twin Modal, a truckload and intermodal transportation intermediary based in Minneapolis, MN, which added approximately $70 million in new revenues. Today, Freightquote.com and our subsidiaries serve customers across North America, with nearly 500 employees delivering a vast array of services for a large and diverse customer base. In just a few years, the company has grown from managing a few dozen shipments to managing a few thousand shipments every day, helping thousands of customers improve their freight transportation. With continuing advancements in technology and growth in our customer-focused employee team, the future looks bright for Freightquote.com. |
